In April 2024, a mysterious individual using the online handles “waifu” and “Jewish” began posting death threats on Telegram and Discord channels targeting a cybersecurity researcher named Allison Nixon.
These anonymous individuals targeted Nixon because she posed a terrifying threat: As chief research officer at cyber-investigation firm Unit 221B, named after Sherlock Holmes’s apartment, she had made a career out of tracking down and helping cybercriminals arrest them.
Although he had done this work for more than a decade, Nixon could not understand why the person behind the account was suddenly threatening him. And although she had taken an interest in the waifu persona over the years for the crimes he claimed to commit, he had not been on her radar for some time when the threats began, as she was tracking other targets.
Nixon now resolved to expose the Waifu/Jews and others responsible for the death threats and arrest them for the crimes they admitted committing. Read the full story.

ALS stole this musician’s voice. The AI made him sing again.
As soon as Patrick Darling’s song started playing, the audience had tears in their eyes. It is an emotional song written for his great-grandfather, whom he never got the chance to meet. But the performance is emotional for another reason: It’s Darling’s first time on stage with her bandmates since she lost the ability to sing two years ago.
The 32-year-old musician was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) when he was 29. Like other types of motor neurone disease, it affects the nerves that supply the body’s muscles. People with ALS eventually lose the ability to control their muscles, including the muscles that allow them to walk, speak, and breathe.
Darling’s last stage performance was two years ago. By that time, he had already lost the ability to stand and play his instruments and struggled to sing or speak. But recently, he was able to recreate his lost voice using an AI tool trained on snippets of old audio recordings. Another AI tool enabled them to use this “voice clone” to create new songs.
