meta on thursday announced It’s launching a new, centralized support center for Facebook and Instagram, acknowledging that getting help isn’t always as easy as it should be. This space will bring together all the support features that users of both networks need to report account problems or recover an account to which they have lost access.
“Getting support for your account should be simple and accessible,” the company explained, adding that it is aware that “support does not always live up to expectations.” The update is being rolled out globally for users of both iOS and Android social media platforms.
Meta said it’s also working on an AI assistant “for immediate, personalized assistance” for things like recovering your account or updating settings. Initially, it will only be available to Facebook users, but Meta said it is “exploring the possibility of bringing it to our other apps in the future.”
Since the Hub is accessed through the Facebook or Instagram apps, it’s unclear how helpful this will actually be if you’re already locked to them. Meta said it is improving the account recovery process, however, using AI to make it easier to find the right recovery option and help the company better trace the devices and locations where you’ve used apps in the past.
