I’ve had an EDC (everyday carry) flashlight for years. i started small photon key chain light (a brand that is still running), moved to maglite And infallible flashlight, then included lights Lasers and UV lights and other cool stuffThese may be expensive, but they deliver,
Also: My AirTags kept dying, so I switched to this tracker that lasts five years
Then a reader sent me a link KYD Trash or Gold Instagram Post where a torch was called K3 UltraMulti Was being reviewed. It was much cheaper than my usual EDC flashlight, yet packed with features. My reader’s question was simple: Did I think the K3 was as good as the video suggested?
Talk is cheap, so I picked up the K3 and tested it.
K3 has a lot to offer. It has 800 lumens of LEDs for illumination, which is quite a bit of output for a small aluminum flashlight that fits in the palm of your hand. This light is perfect for dark nights and is much more powerful than my iPhone’s light.
But there is more. UV light is perfect for spotting counterfeit currency, brightening glow-in-the-dark paint, activating UV adhesives, and detecting leaks. using uv dye,
The UV light is a very useful feature.

The UV light is an extremely useful feature once you know how to use it. There’s also a laser pointer, for pointing at things your finger can’t reach, or for someone giving presentations.

But things do not end here. There’s a multi-color RGB LED light on the side that’s great for all types of creative lighting, from party time to setting up a creative photography session.
Side RGB LEDs have all kinds of practical and creative uses.

There’s another hidden feature below – a lighter! I think it’s designed for cigarettes, but I’ve used it to light a campfire and start a log burner. This is quite a practical kit for those who still need to light a fire.
Yes, the K3 has a lighter!

The unit is powered by a 750mAh battery which is recharged using USB-C. Since there are so many features, it’s hard to get a clear battery runtime, but it seems like for normal use you’ll get at least a week of use, if not more, between recharges.
There is a lanyard hole, a pocket/hat clip, and a magnet on the side to provide flexibility when carrying and using the flashlight.
The clip turns it into a useful headlight.

The manufacturers claim the flashlight has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and my testing suggests it won’t have any issues outdoors.
I have to admit that I expected it to be garbage. Sure, it might feel great, but what about after a few weeks? Well, I was amazed at how well it held up. The interface is fairly straightforward, every feature works well, the battery is enough for daily carry, and it’s small enough not to lag behind.
ZDNET’s shopping advice
The K3 Ultramulti sits next to the larger, stronger, more expensive Olight ArkPro Ultra.
Adrian Kingsley-Hughes/ZDNET
The most important thing: the price is good. Very good. you can pick one up K3 UltraMulti for only $15I was expecting to pay a lot more than I did, and after a few weeks of use, it hasn’t disappointed,
My advice is that if you want an inexpensive and attractive kitchen light that will last for a while, this is a good buy, but if you want to make something that will stand up to punishment and tough daily use, I would suggest something like this Olight ArcPro UltraWhich has everything except lightweight function, is built like a tank, and will provide years of service (but comes with a huge price tag.)
KYD was right, this is definitely gold!
