Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is still rapidly developing in technical fields, and it is changing the entire process of software designing, building, testing, and maintaining, just to mention a few. AI tools, once thought of only in the context of science fiction, are now considered very useful and useful in everyday software engineering activities, such as code generation assistants and even autonomous testing platforms. Companies are increasingly using automation to perform routine and predictable tasks, thereby reducing the time required to launch a product and the cost of operations. Reports from analysts and corporate surveys suggest that AI will not completely replace developers, but instead, will automate some tasks and even entire roles that have been the entry point for newcomers to the profession. That is why the labor market is being reorganized with human expertise that needs to adapt or become extinct.
This article examines five specific software development areas where AI is poised to replace human workers by 2026 due to the nature of the tasks involved and the rapid adoption of AI tools.
