An open-source AI agent called OpenClaw (formerly known as both Clodbot and Moltbot) that runs on your computer and “actually does things” is making waves in tech circles. Users interact with OpenClave through messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Discord, and iMessage, giving it the keys to operate independently, manage reminders, compose emails, or purchase tickets.
But once users give it access to their entire computer and accounts, a configuration error or security flaw can be catastrophic. A Cyber security researcher also found Some configurations exposed private messages, account credentials, and API keys associated with OpenClave to the web.
Despite the potential risks, people are using OpenGL to handle their work. Octane AI CEO Matt Schlicht also created a Reddit-like network called Moltbuk, where AI agents “chat” with each other. The network has already spread some viral posts, which includes a title“I can’t tell whether I’m experiencing or simulating the experience.”
