These microbes created in the laboratory will be organized like normal bacteria, but their proteins and sugars will be mirror images of proteins and sugars found in nature. Researchers believed they could reveal new insights into building cells, designing drugs, and even the origins of life.

Chinese tech workers are starting to train their AI doubles — and pushing back
Earlier this month, a GitHub project called Colleague Skills caused consternation by claiming to “remote” a worker’s skills and personality and replicate them with an AI agent. Although the project was a hoax, it inspired a wave of introspection among enthusiastic early adopters.
Many technical staff told MIT Technology Review That their boss is already encouraging them to document their workflow for automation through tools like OpenClaw. Many people now fear they are being coddled and losing their professional identity.
In response, some people are fighting back with tools designed to destroy the automation process.
