Emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s account claim Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates tried to hide a sexually transmitted disease from his wife Melinda after having sex with “Russian girls.”

In one of the emails, among the 3 million pages of files released by the Justice Department on Friday, the late sex offender also appears to take issue with Gates over the end of their relationship.

“To add to your humiliation and subsequently with tears in your eyes, beg me to please delete your STD related emails, your request that I provide you with antibiotics that you can secretly give to Melinda, and the description of your gender,” the message read.

The release of the documents was announced by Deputy Attorney-General Todd Blanch, and comes more than a month after the December 19 deadline set in law for the entire batch of Epstein-related documents to be released.

So far, the files have offered few new revelations about the relationship between Epstein and President Donald Trump.

But they have highlighted Epstein’s ties to powerful center-left figures including former President Bill Clinton, former British ambassador to the US Lord Peter Mandelson and Gates.

Another email reads: “I have been asked to participate in things that range from ethically inappropriate to morally inappropriate… from helping Bill get drugs, to dealing with the consequences of having sex with Russian girls, to facilitating his illicit relationships with married women, to being asked to provide Adderall for bridge tournaments.”

A spokesman for Gates said the claims were “absolutely absurd and completely false”.

The person added, “The only thing these documents reveal is Epstein’s desperation that he had no existing relationship with Gates and that he would go to any length to entrap and discredit.”

The Trump administration initially opposed the publication of all Epstein files, but backed down after bipartisan pressure, including from the president’s allies on the right wing of the Republican Party.

The Justice Department has stressed that it cannot release all the files before December 19 because it needs to redact the documents to protect the victims.

“We removed every woman featured in any image or video, except Ms. Maxwell,” Blanche said, referring to Epstein’s close associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in his criminal activities. “We did not edit any men’s images unless it was impossible to edit the woman without editing the man.”

The deputy attorney-general also sought to defend the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files from critics, including victims of the late sex offender who have attacked the government for blocking the publication of all documents for months.

“To the extent that there is disappointment, I understand where it comes from what we know about Mr. Epstein,” Blanche said. “I hope that the work that the men and women of this department have done over the past two months will be able to carry out the work as expected.”

But Democrats accused the DoJ of suppressing some material, saying the entire trove of documents totals 6 million pages.

Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, said: “Donald Trump and his Justice Department have now made it clear that they intend to withhold approximately 50 percent of the Epstein files while claiming to fully comply with the law. This is outrageous and incredibly concerning.”
