Access to a reliable space heater can mean the difference between being cool and cozy in your home, basement, or garage—and this little heater packs the essential punch.
Too: Don’t plug these 7 appliances (including space heaters) into an extension cord—here’s why
In my house, we have two furnaces that do a remarkable job of keeping me and my wife nice and toasty. However, the basement – where I work out – doesn’t have as much heat as the rest of the house. I’m always hesitant to use a space heater in the basement because the room isn’t finished, it can get quite dirty, and there isn’t always room for a space heater on the floor between all the exercise equipment.
So, when Dreo provided this wall mounted space heater As for the review, I was happy to try it.
my experience
At first, I wasn’t bothered by the smart aspect of the Dreo space heater. We’ve turned off our Alexa devices in favor of Google Home speakers. We recently changed network providers, and I couldn’t connect Alexa to the new network no matter how hard I tried. I’ve always found Alexa devices problematic for connectivity, and deploying the Google Home speaker was absolutely painless.
That said, after using the heater for a few weeks, I found that I don’t miss the smart features as it works great without Alexa or a mobile app.

Our basement gets cold in winter. Normally, when I’m working out, I have to dress like I’m exercising outside. Thanks to Dreo, that’s not the case. I turned the heater on its highest setting and enjoyed the warmth.
Now, I’ve tried doing the same with other space heaters, of which I have two – a radiator and a conventional heater. None of my other heaters could pull their weight in the basement. However, the Dreo made me feel good and comfortable when I worked up a sweat. That feature alone sold me on the heater.
The addition of a well-designed remote was also a plus. When things got too hot, I could turn down the heat or turn the device off without leaving a single shock on the rower or treadmill.

One thing to note is that our basement is 900 square feet, so a space heater will not be able to heat the entire area. However, I put the heater on to concentrate on my exercise equipment, and that part of the basement was significantly warmer than the other. If you use the Dreo in a bedroom, living room, TV room, or any other space that is not a huge, unfinished space, I am confident that this heater will keep you feeling completely cozy all winter long.
a nit to choose from
The only problem I had with the Dreo heater was that the oscillating fan could only be stopped in three specific places. When you stop the oscillations, the feather remains at either the top, center-most, or lowest position. This is fine if you don’t need to pump heat into a specific plane along its vertical trajectory. But if you want to get specific information, you’re out of luck.
